Indicatie
Needles with secure connection for the injection of anesthetic solutions into the subarachnoid space; for lumbar puncture to collect cerebrospinal fluid for tests or for the injection of medicinal agents as part of medical treatment.
The spinal needle with its “pencil-point” bevel minimizes the dura-matter injuries and loss of cerebrospinal fluid. This contributes to strongly reduce the risk of the postdural puncture headaches.
Beschrijving
- Spinal Whitacre needle with a pencil-point bevel, a transparent hub and an obturating stylet.
- The non-Luer connector complies to the ISO 80369-6 norm, named NRFit™. The range of devices with a NRFit™ connection has the commercial name Neurafit™. This range features a NRFit™ type connection that complies with the ISO-80369-6 standard. These needles cannot be connected to devices intended for another application.
- The stylet hub is colour-coded and corresponds to the external needle diameter.
- The needle hub is made with transparent plastic to visualize the cerebrospinal fluid and is ergonomic to ensure an easy handling.
- The stylet is tightly adjusted to the lumen. It has a lug to indicate the position of the distal eye to the bevel of the needle (avoids the risk of coring and tissue damage, reducing the risk of infection). It can be easily repositioned in the needle if the dura-matter is not punctured and is perfectly adjustable to reduce tissues trauma and headaches.
- Introducer needle (with transparent plastic hub): the spinal needle passes through this introducer limiting the risks of kinking.
