FAQ
Codes 0VEPL6 / 0VEPL6xxx / 0VEPL4 / 0VEPL4xxx: What's the purpose of using NiMH battery instead of Lithium battery?
With Lithium battery, there's a risk of overheating of the battery. Our products being in a clinical environment and thus to ensure safety, it has been decided to use NiMH batteries in our pumps to prevent those risks of overheating.
Codes 0VEPL6 / 0VEPL6xxx / 0VEPL4 / 0VEPL4xxx: Do you recommend preventive maintenance on the pumps?
As the device is class IIa, it does not impose mandatory preventive maintenance. However, we Vygon offer, upon request, a compliance check which can be carried out once a year.
Codes 0VEPL6 / 0VEPL6xxx / 0VEPL4 / 0VEPL4xxx: Do you have a program dedicated to hydration?
There is no program dedicated to hydration. However, it is possible to carry out a hydration on the pump in a very simple manner thanks to dual tubing provided for this purpose (code 0VEACC126). Indeed, for the installation, you need to: - Install the double line tubing - Put a water bag (on the line where the non-return valve is located) - Prime the tubing for 1min - Set up the nutrition bag on the other line - Perform automatic priming (1min45sec). - Program the flow rate and the volume you want to administer. In order to do the hydration, it is necessary to enter in the “volume” parameter: volume of water to be administered + volume of nutrition to be administered. - Check the programmed parameters and start nutrition. The pump will first feed the patient and then rinse the tubing and the feeding tube to hydrate the patient. It is also possible to clamp the nutrition line while nutrition is in progress for the hydration line to be used.
Codes 0VEPL6 / 0VEPL6xxx / 0VEPL4 / 0VEPL4xxx: Is it possible to lock the pump keypad when the pump is running?
Yes, by pressing the + and - keys simultaneously on the pump for three seconds, the keypad locks. To unlock, it is necessary to repeat the same action.
Codes 0VEPL6 / 0VEPL6xxx / 0VEPL4 / 0VEPL4xxx: Is it possible to use real food or blenderized food?
In the pumps’ IFU, it is stated not to use homemade food preparations. However, knowing what happens on the market, in case of homemade food preparation, we recommend to add extra water to dilute the preparation and avoid obstructions.
