Indication
The Montandon tube is mainly used during laryngectomies and in maxillo-facial surgery so that the surgeon is not disturbed during the intervention as the connection occurs at the thoracic level.
After the surgical intervention, the Montandon tube is removed and replaced by a tracheostomy tube.
