Indication
This device is designed to diagnose mechanically ventilaled associated nosocomial pneumonia.
Product highlights
- Double catheter for bronchoalveolar lavage for diagnosis of ventilator-associated pneumonia. The distal end of the external catheter is radiopaque and closed by a polyethylene glycol plug allowing protected distal bronchial sampling.
- At the proximal end, there is a spacer between the external and internal catheters to avoid premature expulsion of the polyethylene glycol plug.
- Protected distal bronchial sampling.
Description
Aspisafe 2 is a twin radio-detectable catheter allowing blind sampling (code 538.25) or introduced through the lumen of a fiberscope tubing (code 538.34) and designed for the diagnosis of mechanically ventilated associated nosocomial pneumonia.The device is made up of:
- An external catheter closed on the distal end by a polyethylene glycol (PEG) cap.
- A second catheter fitted inside the first catheter
- A spacer to avoid an untimely expulsion of the PEG cap while using the device.
Each catheter has a female Luer-lock proximal connector.
