Indication
PPS® Flow+ safety Huber needles are indicated for the administration or withdrawal of fluids through implantable ports.
PPS® Flow+ are designed to prevent blood-borne pathogen exposures caused by accidental needle punctures. POLYPERF® Safe does not protect against other routes of blood-borne pathogen transmission.
Some PPS® Flow+ items have a closed Luer BD Q-Syte™ access system at the tip of the line. The safety Huber needle remains always closed thanks to this device sealed on its tubing. A universal system, BD Q-Syte™ constitutes a barrier against infections and gases, thus improving the access to intravenous routes. Its design ensures that the catheter remain aseptic after a syringe or infusion line removal.
Already pre-mounted on the Huber needles, the closed BD Q-Syte™ system is instrumental in care procedure simplifications, and good practice compliance.
Single hand removal of the safety Huber needle PPS® Flow+ automatically and simultaneously generates a positive pressure (saline injection) in the implantable port, thus limiting the risk of blood clot obstruction of the distal tip of the catheter.

Automatic positive pressure:
Thanks to its design, PPS® Flow+ perform automatic positive pressure when the needle is removed. Only one hand is needed to remove PPS® Flow+ and flush the catheter at the same time. Automatic positive pressure helps prevent catheter occlusions (1) (2) (3).
Prevention of Needle Stick Injuries (NSI):
PPS® Flow+ is a safe Huber needle offering protection against the risks of NSI (4). During disposal, there is no contact between the body and the needle tip.
Visibility of the puncture site:
PPS® Flow+'s design enables visibility of the puncture site, so that any complications can be monitored.
From paediatric to adults:
PPS® Flow+ is part of a wide range of Huber needles to suit all patient morphologies:
- 3 gauges (22G, 20G and 19G)
- 6 lengths (15, 17, 20, 25, 30, 35 mm).
PPS® Flow+ is available with or without a Y site.

They are indicated for the administration into or withdrawal of fluids from implanted ports.

Description
PPS® Flow+ are curved safety Huber needles with extension line.PPS® Flow+ curved safety Huber needles are available:
- in various lengths and diameters
- with or without a lateral injection site (“Y” connector)
PPS® Flow+ curved safety Huber needles are available with a closed BD Q-Syte™ Luer access system (pre-sealed to the Luer lock of the tubular):
- at the distal tip of the tubing for product codes with no “Y” connector (72xxxx)
- or only at the lateral site of injection for product codes with a “Y” connector (73xxxx)
They are provided with:
- Luer-lock connectors on which are screwed
- closed protective cap (end of the main line) which must not be used as sealing caps for references with a “Y” connector.
- clamps.
Tubing is DEHP (di-2 ethylhexyl-phthalate) free.
PPS® Flow+ are packaged in 12 unit-cartons.
