Indication
This catheter can be introduced either in the umbilical vein or in the umbilical artery.
An umbilical venous catheter is mainly used for neonatal emergencies for a short period of time (a few days). It allows parenteral nutrition, blood or blood products transfusion, exchange-transfusion, drugs administrations, central venous pressure measurement etc.
An arterial umbilical catheter is mainly used for neonatal emergencies for a short period of time (a few days). It allows : blood gas analysis, arterial pressure measurement, the administration of some drugs or solutions...
Description
Catheter in radiopaque and transparent PUR, can be used for venous or arterial access.Supplied with a small 2 way stopcock and identification plugs (red for arterial use, blue for venous use).
Actual distance from the distal tip is printed numerically from 4 to 25 cm.
- Polyurethane has good haemocompatibility
- No plasticiser release
