Indication
This catheter can be introduced either in the umbilical vein or in the umbilical artery.
An umbilical venous catheter is mainly used for neonatal emergencies for a short period of time (a few days). It allows parenteral nutrition, blood or blood products transfusion, exchange-transfusion, drugs administrations, central venous pressure measurement etc.
Description
Catheter in radiopaque and transparent PUR, can be used for venous or arterial access.Supplied with a 3-way stopcock vyclic color and identification plugs (red for arterial use, blue for venous use).
Actual distance from the distal tip is printed numerically from 4 to 25 cm.
Sizes available:
- 2.5Fr: Length 30 cm
- 3.5Fr, 4Fr, 5Fr and 8Fr: Length 40 cm
Polyurethane has good haemocompatibility (reduced risk of thrombosis).
No plasticizer release.
