Indication
This catheter is mainly used for insertion in the peripheral veins of the back of the hand and forearm in order to:
- infuse hydric, electrolytic and nutrient solutions . . .
- administer medication,
- transfuse blood or blood products,
- carry out blood sampling.
Description
Short polypropylene intravenous catheter, radiation sterilised, with winged hub mounted on trocar needle. The distal end of the cannula is tapered to facilitate its penetration into the skin and vein and the proximal end comprises a female Luer-lock connector. The hub of the puncture needle comprises a chamber for display of the blood reflux that occurs when the needle bevel penetrates into the vessel to be cannulated.Available in 3 sizes: 16, 14 and 13G
